and probably only Matty would back me on this.Quik releases a single that's really stellar and is loyal to his signature sound - crisp and melodic with a bit of funk to it.Some say that he hasn't evolved (I see Trauma and Blaqkout as proof that he actually has) but hell, why is that bad?Quik is a master at his craft and he is majorly underappreciated as an artist which allows him to drop whatever the fuck he wants, but I'm kind of getting offtopic here.Moving on, I think Dre should've done what Quik did. Some would say that he actually did it with Kush, but it's really not as solid as Quik's single. He should've kept that "I Promise You" beat (Hot Dollar featuring Guerrilla Black) for himself.Beat is again him and Khalil (mostly Khalil if I might say) and like Quik's song it's a testament to the older sound but with a slightly new twist. It's not as uptempo as Kush but I think it would've done the job, since it's a much better beat imo and they could've built a nice Dre/Snoop song off it with a nice final mixdown.I know this is another what Dre could've/should've done/Detox thread, but hell, I'm just thinking out loudAnd I said matty would back me because he was one of the few who liked the I promise you beat when it dropped. The negative feedback it got was really odd to me

If Matty says so, I can only agree.
