PSH, the Knicks have been talking about the future two years ago when people thought about LeBron leaving Cleveland.

so the Knicks gave up three of their 5 best (and young) players to get Melo whereas they had a pretty good chance to land him via the next free agency LOL ...

even with a top guard PG ... I have high doubts about that Melo- Amare duo , both great scorers but average all around players ... Chicago will be the only to be able to keep up with the Heat in the East when the C's are out of the picture

well Amare and Melo don't play defense

but having two 25 point-per-game guys certainly doesn't hurt.  and they kept that nice rookie too.

Gallinari was never going to be an allstar playing with Amare and Melo so it wasn't bad getting ridda him.

Absolutely

Top 10 IMO (no order)

LeBron
Kobe
D Wade
Durant
Carmelo
Dwight Howard
Rondo
CP3
Derrick Rose
Amare/Pau Gasol

I feel like it's really close between Amare and Gasol. Amare has been in beast mode this year but Gasol gives you every statistic.

Just missing the cut: Carlos Boozer, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love, Derron Williams, Blake Griffin & Joe Johnson. Westbrook, Love & Griffin all will break through that list soon.

I excluded guys like Tim Duncan, Steve Nash & Dirk Nowitzki (all getting old).

I agree with this article: http://www.nba.com/2011/news/features/shaun_powell/02/22/carmelo.trade.reaction/index.html

Melo is a bitch, instead of signing as a FA for less money to a true contender he decided to let the Knicks get absolutely gutted in that trade.
Now it's only Amare (scorer, no defense), Melo (scorer, no defense) and Billups (aging, bad season, falling the fuck off) and a bunch of little bitches.
Not even close to a contender... and not any pieces to give up in a trade for another All-Star caliber player. Not any cap room to sign another max contract FA with once the new cap is in effect.
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

You cannot win a ring in the D'antoni system unless you have a lineup of:

CP3/Deron
Wade/Kobe
LeBron/Melo
Amare/Bosh
Dwight

lol.
