Replace no. But I rate Butch Cassidy, Kokane and Anthony Hamilton very highly.

Good shout. Is Mike Anthony west coast? If so, I'd throw his name into the mix, I rate him

No one can replace Nate D-O-Double G but Kokane and Butch Cassidy need to step their game up at this moment. Same goes for Bo Roc and a couple other folks..

Bo-Rocc is my 1st and final pick as a good substitute although it'll never be the same 100% w/o Mr. Hale

Dont think anyone could take nates place in the west. Butch and Kobe are dope on the hooks tho.

Especially Kobe but none of them has a really comparable voice. Nate's deep pitch (but also his range) gave him a different presence on the mic.
i donīt need any medicate shit im 100 normal.

He's a legend & yeah, it hurts that he died. But let's be real. His prime was years & years ago.

I don't think the West Coast will get someone who they think is better than Nate, but "Nate's absence" goes beyond his death. I get it, "he couldn't". But that doesn't take away from the fact he wasn't there.

are you talking success or the quality of his input? imo nate never fell off.

anyway, what are you trying to say, that he didn't work hard enough before the stroke or?

After 15 years nobody was so pure like 2Pac...and the same will happen with Nate Dogg...these two are unique and not replacable!!!

It kinda sucks, that Nate Dogg will be remembered mainly for his hiphop hooks, and not his Soul R&B talent, he could have been on the same level as Luther Vandross, if he was releasing more powerful and soulful music other than the hooks where he was always cursing on

But Nate never had to be the next Luther Vandros, he was the first and only Nate Dogg. There is no greater success as an artist than to have your own unique style that people immediately identify with you and Nate had that.  Nobody was doing it before him and nobody will do it like him after. There will be imitators and people who are influenced enough to pay tribute but you'll never have another one like that one. Like I said elsewhere, he wasn't just a guy who sang hooks. He brought harmony to music that was generally aggressive and made that style work to where it didn't feel like an odd fit. He wasn't just the chorus. Listen to that WC song, "The Streetz" and the first time you hear Nate at the start of the record. That's not a hook but I'll be damned if that doesn't sell you on how good the song is gonna be right there. Think of it all is you have so many guys on any team who want to be superstars. I can listen to "G-Funk Classics Vol. 1 + 2" and know that Nate would never have a problem making great solo records but he was smart enough and selfless enough to get that he could carve out his niche in the music business by being "that dude" and he played that part. And that's why he will have that legacy and people won't forget him anytime soon. I remember talking about this back when Nate had first had a stroke and certain people were trying to play that "just a hook singer" thing and explaining that he had a consistency when it came to his music that only maybe Dr. Dre and two other artists had. It wasn't an accident or coincidence that this guy was on so many amazing records. I don't think the potential for somebody to even play a similar role is likely because too many people care about getting that instant credit and superstardom where Nate understood as long as he's on a hit record, everybody wins. And the cursing was what differentiated him from the pack. You didn't have people with powerful singing voices who could take some really crazy content and make it into something catchy like that and still make it sound professional. Today, everyone does it because we pushed the envelope that far where nothing is really shocking anymore.
