Which Label deserves credit for blowing up Regulators single? Row or Def Jam?

Reason I ask is because Dre's admitted that he kind of didn't think Warren was gonna amount to much and was surprised at the success of Regulators (in The Show documentary), and we all know how Suge supposedly bitch slapped Warren and never bothered to sign him.

So if nobody was giving a fuck about Warren G, which label was it that really got behind the Regulators single and blew that shit up?

Warren deserves the credit. Remember that Dre told Warren he ain't gon back him up so Warren has to do it on his own and Warren did that.

Warren definitely created his own lane with his career and deserved the success he got but him and Nate weren't pushing that "Regulate" record out of their trunks and going to the radio themselves and making people play it. They had Death Row and Def Jam and a hit movie to help bring that song to people's ears. Once you heard it, it was undeniable. Classic to this day.

no shit... but somebody had to convince death row to make it a lead single for the soundtrack, and somebody had to convince them to spend loot on the video, and somebody was paying for studio time, and so on.

Maybe I shud check Ronin Ro's book, I remember he spoke a little on the Suge/Warren beef, but i cant remember exactly how it all worked out in regards to the "regulators" single.

Imagine if the Regulators... G Fun Era album had been on Death Row, then they would of had yet another multiplatinum plaque and it would've boosted their catalog and rep even more.

According to the book, Warren felt slighted over being the one who brought a lot of the players to the table but not getting the credit publicly that he felt he should get. He also I believe had to let Death Row use "Regulate" as part of the soundtrack in order to get Nate cleared for it or something like that. From what I gather, Suge always made sure if there were collaborations going on outside of his label or clients he represented that his side was always taken care of. Death Row during its most succesful years tended to be very "in-house". I'm sure there's more to it than that but who knows.
