No hate or diss, but this must be some crack speak -- Quik's last album sold less than 2000 units....Blaqout didnt sell and he invited Kurupt to do the album with him and Kurupt has a real fanbase on the west.....I thought "Do You Know" was one of the best tracks of the year and it didnt get shit for play or any due and it was a bomb track IMO.......I like him workin with Jon B but to be real he's waaaaay off with the current sound of hip hop and needs to modernize his sound

Quik has modernized his sound quite a bit but it didn't help him at all. That Fixxers album turned out to be a disaster, with Quik trying to sound like a southern rapper on a few songs and basically embarrassing himself. Sounded very modern and still the album got shelved but eventually leaked later. BlaQKout was more true to his sound, but still had the catchy more modern sounding tracks as well, and that didn't do too well either. Fact is, Quik should just do Quik! He doesn't sell a lot of records but he has a pretty strong fan base regardless.
Everyone isn't meant to sound like what's popular, or actually be popular. Quik still gets lots of love and respect. Some people on this forum are saying he should quit but I think he still has a lot of great music left in him. I've been bumping TBOD non-stop and I can't wait to buy it tomorrow.
