Quik tracks that grew on you
« on: May 17, 2011, 09:57:25 PM »
One of the things that makes Quik one of the best in the game is the replay value of his cuts. There are so many things you don't notice about a Quik track the first time or the 20th time that you finally discover on the 100th.

For me, songs like Do I Love Her?, Change the Game off of B+O and Secrets off of Street Gospel were tracks that I didn't like/skipped over initially but are now classics IMO. Especially Change the Game.

^ I don't think any. Eazy did rap on PPC's "Trust No Bitch" which was produced by Quik.

I made a mix once with just Quik and Eazy. Its funny how similar those two sound.

"Balance & Options" is full of that type of tracks.

On the recent ones, "The End?" is really growing on me.

Till Jesus Comes and alot of others from the Trauma album.
Just took some used to the new direction he went with. That album fucking bangs.

However, suprisingly the new album didn't take that long for me to enjoy.

Oh and Sex Crimee off Under Tha Influence took a long time to grow on me.

def "fire and brimstone."  i really dig that track now.  some other tracks from under the influence.  sometimes i appreciate the tracks that don't intially move me more than other trakcs that do.  dj quik really is insanely talented.  so glad his music is a part of my life!

How could you not like Boom the first time you heard it?  That track is vintage DJ Quik right from the get-go!
