To be honest? I think Kubrick was a fruit, and that movie sucks. I saw it several times, and didn't see anything intelligent about it. It was just your typical arty bullsh*t. I call it Missy Elliott/Busta Rhymes syndrome. Just because it's different, don't make it classic, or 'art'. Missy & Busta got some great stuff, but most of their crap is just weird, and that's not always a good thing. A good example of a weird movie that's artsy is Pulp Fiction. Pulp Fiction was all shock value and weird, different, etc. Trick shots, camera tricks, all that, but it was done great. Clockwork Orange was a waste of film, in my opinion. Peace~[/quoteLike I said, this movie is not for everyone. The movie is still considered a classic regardless of negative opinion period!!

Whats it about? -{bLaDe}
Quote from: .:[b L a D e]:. on January 14, 2003, 11:23:55 AMWhats it about? -{bLaDe}Alex, a teenage hooligan in a near-future Britain, gets jailed by the police. There he volunteers as guinea pig for a new aversion therapy proposed by the government to make room in prisons for political prisoners. "Cured" of his hooliganism and released, he is rejected by his friends and relatives. Eventually nearly dying, he becomes a major embarrassment for the government, who arrange to cure him of his cure. A pivotal moment is when he and his gang break into an author's home: the book he is writing (called "A Clockwork Orange") is a plea against the use of aversion therapy, on the grounds that it turns people into Clockwork Oranges (Ourang is Malay for "Man"): they are not being good from choice. The film reflects this: many bad scenes in a Clockwork Orange are accompanied by jolly music; if we are to experience them as we should, we have to do it consciously, by realising they are bad, and not because the director tells us so through the use of music and images.Source: www.us.imdb.comits quite a good movie if ur smart enough to see past some of the disturbing material and understand what the film is saying.the movie is practically saying we cant rob people of free will, its inhumane to make someone into a machine - its quite an interesting piece of work - people just need to do some thinkin and understand what its all about and understand the techniques the director uses[/quoteThat shit sums it up, classic film!!
