Best Hip Hop Album in Recent Memory....be sure to pick it up
« on: January 07, 2003, 12:48:16 PM »
Group called Little Brother "The Listening".  This shit is amazing and took me back to the feel good days of hip hop.  They have  beats, lyrics, concepts, and charisma.  I thought the GZA's new album was hot but this album puts his solid effort to shame.  You can't buy it in stores yet but hiphopsite.com has copies available.  Also read review at thaformula.com.  They gave it classic status and I know they don't throw that word around lightly.  Sorry if this post pisses off the strictly "westcoast hardcore" heads on this board.  Just thought I'd shed some light on an amazing album that any fan of hip hop music will love.

Yes, this album is top notch, quality, fresh hip-hop. You can check some more audio from them over at dijitalphonics.com. Also, check out some stuff by Binky Fingers, his album will be dropping soon and he's done some work with them too.

Oh, and here's the addy for LB's website: www.littlebrothermusic.com

btw, what did you think of the 9th Wonder remix CD?

I think that if you take one of the 'O's' out of 'Good' it's 'God', if you add a 'D' to 'Evil' it's the 'Devil'. I think some cool motherfucker sat down a long time ago and said 'let's figure out a way to control motherfuckers'.

I'm just finishing my first listen (at track 15).  And I really like this album, this has some really nice, smooth production.

It says the album comes out Feb 25 on ABB Records, but I think it's being sold now, check here for more info:

BTW, this probably should be moved to Outbound, these guys are from N.C.
