Bishop Lamont (although I stopped listening/caring about him since he barely drops anything)
he dropped 2 mixtapes & several other free songs since he left aftermath ???

true, but i just stopped caring after he dropped that Team America tape, and gave his last tape a listen

was not diggin either of them at all
fair enough.
i think shawshank is somewhat similar to the mixtapes that were released before team america though.

haven't checked the site out in a while to be honest, but like said before most of it gets posted in this section. A couple of artists that I started listening to in recent times are Kendrick and Bishop.
but you know bishop for a while right?

Yeah TA was trash and their only a few tracks I was feeling off his last mixtape, the ones I was feeling really were dope though. Still anticipating his official debut.
which ones?

Shawshank Redemption had some dope songs. Get Inspired, Hollow Eyes, Land of the Free, Change is Gonna Come, Home. There was some trash though.

to me bishop was really average, i think dre picked him because he was alright and wasnt "too gangsta", but dude wasnt gonna come up wit his beats cuz his demeanor was kind of boring.

i loved a couple of tracks, but if dre didnt take him under his wing for that time, i would of never gaven him a 2nd look.

The problem with these guys (namely bishop) is this...how long can we keep listening to mixtapes while they promise a great album? Shit gets old after a while.

The highlights for me were "change is gonna come", "hollow eyes", "rain" and "you ain't fresh". Some of the tracks just seemed to have bad mixing or sounded messy.

yeah I've known of him for a long time but wasn't really into his music until the last few years. Kendrick I'd never even heard of till I read about him on the site

I do. The Dub put me on to:

Focus... (his Dedicated album still bangs to this day)
Bishop Lamont (although I stopped listening/caring about him since he barely drops anything)
Taje + Get It Gang (Hot Box 2 is still pretty damn good)
Black Milk (Caltroit with Bishop)
Young De (Audio Hustlaz Vol. 1)
Nipsey Hussle (Bullets and They Roll are both hot)
Pac Div
Omar Cruz
Strong Arm Steady
Stat Quo

+ others that I can't remember

thanks Dubcnn   8)

Same here, I usually check out dubcnn first then come here, and I have to pretty much agree with your list on artists I've found on dubcnn and liked at least some of their music

For real, I agree with that.  But I guess at least they are puttin' out music, sometimes their best songs are on the mixtapes as opposed to what does get leaked from the album

I think the problem today is that you have to keep puttin' out music to build buzz before you even get a chance to put out an album...and not independently

Terrace Martin

They get talked about in here now, but I saw them up on dubcnn first

sure, but his mixtapes are similar to albums.
not to mention that some songs from those projects were meant for the retail album at some point.
