Truth be told it really says a lot of the Maimon's parenting skills.  Not because NIK listens to rap or because Eden is a homosexual.  It's the over the top antics that they do in order to get noticed.  More times than not actions like that are desperate cry for help and for their parents to just notice them.  Instead of being there emotionally they just threw money at them.  The Maimons must of did some kind of the number on their kids.
