"I'm in studio working with Dr. Dre again. Making sure this Detox sound got my imprint on it too. You won't be disappointed," says Soopafly.

the beat starting at 1.55 is fucking hard !!! i'm loving the discreet chords and the synthetic bass + vocoder type of voice remind me of some old school Kleeer.

LMAO @ him working on Detox. same shit, different day. it's nice to hear they're collaborating again though.

Man, i was all pumped for this sampler, bur it's only 4 songs, and three of them i already have.  The first one is "Move Too Fast" and is the only new unheard song for me.  It has a modern feel to it, with the chorus in autotune.  I says it features Daz and Kurupt, but the sampler only has Soopafly's verse.  Sounds like something that could be heard on the radio today.  Its pretty good, not great.  If this is the only song with that 'modern radio hit' type feel to it, that'll be fine, as it's a good song on its own.  If the whole album got beats like that, i'm gonna be a lil dissapointed.  The second one is "Beast in The Jungle" feat Short Khop.  This track was featured on another website already.  It has a weird beat.  It samples the famous line "everybody get up" throughout the entire song and has animal noises in it.  Not really feeling it.  Then the next one is "G-Funk Martian" which was on dubcnn to listen to.  This song has an awesome g-funk type beat, but Soopafly doesn't rap on it very much.  It's almost like an instrumental type track.  Could have been great to hear him spit his bitch checking lyrics on, but it doesn't happen.  The last one is "Best Kept Secret" which was also already on dubcnn.  Again, not really feeling the beat too much, too many guests on it.

Honestly, i'm slightly worried about this album.  First time i've ever been a bit concerned about a Soopafly album.  I've heard 6 tracks off of it now, and none of those tracks have blew me away yet.  I'm hoping maybe i've just heard 6 of the weaker tracks.  He does have a lot of tracks on this album, so i'm hoping the remaining tracks will come hard.  Not saying these are bad, but he's definitely modernized his sound, and i don't like it.  Reminds of how Warren G switched up his sound after "Return of the Regulator" to try to appeal to a wider audience and he's never been the same since.  Warren has a few standout tracks on each album, but not an entire album of standout tracks like he used to have.  AND, i haven't heard one single bitch checking lyric on any of the leaked songs.  I hope Fly still puts the bitches in check on this album at some point.

I've got no problem with coming with newer type beats, as long as he has some classic sounding beats as well.  Like i said, it's still too early to tell, and a lot of these newer fans seem to like the songs he's released so far, i just hope he has made a few songs so a fan of the classic 'slap a hoe' Soopafly can be satisfied as well.  I haven't given up hope yet!
