What albums are worth listening to?
« on: July 26, 2011, 12:13:51 PM »
Not kept myself up-to-date with rap recently but wondering what albums are worth a listen?

Recent albums i heard and liked are
Dj Quik - Book of David
Ice Cube - I am the west
Devin the dude - Gotta be me
8Ball and MJG - Ten toes down (the other album From the bottom to top i didnt like very much)
Snoop Dogg - Doggumentary - some tracks were very good

Any others worth checking out?

WC - Revenge of the Barracuda (specially if you liked Cube's "I Am The West")
Brotha Lynch Hung - Coat Hanga Strangla (don't know if you've heard his music before but if you have then you already know)
Tha Dogg Pound - 100 Wayz (personally I think this killed Snoop's Doggumentary, but that's just me)
Bad Meets Evil - Hell: The Sequel EP (Royce and Em's EP. It was cool, I didn't like it as much as other people but it got good reviews, if you like Royce Da 5'9" and Eminem I'm sure you'll dig it)
"Lyrics aint nothin' if the beat aint crackin' and knees be smackin', that's why the G's keep stackin'" - DJ Quik

Jay Rock - Follow Me Home => decent beats on half of the album (the southern beats are terrible). The flow is decent.

and even if it was released 1 year ago, it's still DOPE :
Hopsin - RAW
What a monster of an album. 1999 Slim Shady fans will crap their pants when they hear this.
Best rap album in years IMO, but nobody cares about it.
