CRIP'S MURDERED @ MY SPOT!!!!!

 Detectives on Monday were trying to solve two South Bay homicides - a San Pedro man shot dead on a Rancho Palos Verdes trail, and a Torrance man gunned down on a Hawthorne street.

Investigators said they had no suspects in either killing, which are not related. Records showed each victim had a criminal record.

Coroner's officials on Monday identified the 22-year-old man found shot to death on an Abalone Cove trail as Joseph Beau Lewis of San Pedro.

Two hikers discovered Lewis' body about 10 p.m. Friday
near the 5600 block of Palos Verdes Drive South, sheriff's deputies said.

Lewis, shot multiple times, was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives believe he was killed there, sheriff's homicide Lt. Dave Dolson said.

"We are in the process of trying to retrace his steps and figure out what transpired," Dolson said. "We just don't have a lot of information right now."

County court and jail records showed Lewis was on bail while charged in a drug-related case pending at the Pasadena courthouse.

Pasadena police arrested Lewis on May 10, jail records show. Prosecutors charged him with possession for sale of marijuana, and marijuana trafficking.

on the charges, and should have appeared in court last Wednesday.

That charge came shortly after Lewis was sentenced in Torrance court in May to spend time in a drug treatment program for marijuana possession, records indicate.

Court records revealed Lewis had several arrests or convictions for marijuana possession, trafficking or sales since 2009.

Dolson, who oversees a team of homicide investigators, also was at the scene of a shooting that killed a Torrance man and

wounded another man in Hawthorne on Sunday.

The shooting was reported at 1 p.m. in the 13500 block of Doty Avenue. Investigators believe the crime was gang-related, Dolson said.

Coroner's officials on Monday identified the slain victim as 23-year-old Corey Quinton Wiley.

Deputies said the men were sitting in a car when someone opened fire on them.

Wiley was found dead at the scene. The other man, whose name was not released, underwent surgery at a hospital. He was reported in critical condition.

Court records showed Wiley was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon on Sept. 17, 2007, at the Santa Monica courthouse. A charge of making criminal threats was dropped.

had a driving under the influence conviction in 2010.

Detectives asked anyone with information about the deaths of Wiley and Lewis to call the Sheriff's Department's homicide bureau at 323-890-5500.
