It doesn't really matter that much about about the gangs. I think the gang culture is silly through my eyes. The problem seems to be that it is especially silly for anyone to embrace the gang culture who is a Hip Hop star in the mainstream, with the power to reach many listeners. Hip Hop, like Rock is one of these genre's where realism is, or should be a main criteria. Being in a gang, or affiliated is nothing to brag about

I'm not knocking gangs overall. I can though, understand why some people may be in blood or crip gangs, and in deprived areas with no positive outlook, or hope. It's these people, where some may genuinly be talented in rapping, that are exploited, by these people trying to create this image for themselves.. People that, already established, and having money, don't need to go down that route. It diminishes what little chance these "real" gang members may have at getting into the game.

I think the main problem for myself is the authenticity of Hip Hop being removed day by day, and this blood/crip obsession among a lot of the known acts in Hip Hop are another big problem in that authenticity
