back in d day when i still purchased paper-magazines, HipHop Connection was my favorite hiphop-publication.

i got into various UK-stuff cuz of it..






n i was always a fan of Dizzee Racal

uk 'hip-hop' is fucking whack with the exception of a few mcs. grime is were its at! so solid are actually from the uk garage scene fwiw

so of my fav grime mcs: tempa t, durty goodz, newham generals

e: also i never understood why people like the streets so much, the dude is awful, oh yeah i forgot its because.... WHITE PEOPLE

no...its cuz Skinner isn't a great rapper, and at least I think it's apparent that he's not an excellent producer, either. But as a character, and as a director, it felt like there was nobody filling those two roles in rap music better than Mike Skinner back when he was in his prime.

Ow shit you remember the single from that LP called Bad Young Brotha?? Pure dopeness...

I used to buy NME in 87-88 everytime it came out because of their (limited) hip hop coverage, I think that magazine still excists to this day.

I used to listen to UK hip hop all the time during the late 80s: Cookie Crew, Derek B, Silver Bullet, Hi-jack (who were affiliated with Ice T's Rhyme Syndicate), Asher D & Daddy Freddy, Shinehead, Stereo MCs and even Wee Papa Girl Rappers, Rebel MC and Monie Love.

Nowadays I'm feeling Wiley and Mz Bratt.
