I'm listening to Meek Millz new tape "Dream Chasers" and it's pretty good so far on the 1st listen.  My cousin just really really put me up on this nigga tha other week.  To me he's a "grower" but he's not bad and I liked "Tupac Back", i thought that shit was pretty hard.  Typical hood nigga but he got bars #pause.

In response to your thread I have a question for you.  Do you actually listen to music by artist that you have never heard of and/or aren't attached to a credible company?  I feel like there is a big lack of support for upcoming artist out of the west that make great music on all of these west coast websites.  I am not talking about artist that send unprofessional emails or badly mixed music.  But there are a lot of artist out here that make great music that never get love on any westcoast websites.  What makes you actually checkout an email from someone that you have never heard of?  That question is for anyone that owns, works or has had a blog/website presently or in the past.

We sift through so much music at dubcnn when it gets submitted and yea we miss some but the best way to get a chance is that initial contact, make it respectful and clear - dont just send us a myspace page, a mp3...make it something that we feel compelled to read and listen.

Have you guys ever considered hiring a team that specifically handles upcoming cats?

I don't care too much for these blogs that only try to drop the hottest songs out asap anyway... we got too many of those. I dig the blogs where people try to make a point or post their opinions / thoughts on certain songs / records that make me wanna play that shit. I try to do this with my blog as well. Of course sometimes you just drop a new post to get something spread but that shouldn't be the majority of what a blogger post. So I find it quite ridicolous that some people don't even listen to what they post... that doesn't speak for the quality of the blog.
