Who is the Best Producer Ever?

A Producer is an important part in hiphop. In order to make a song hot an emcee needs good production. There are a lot of producers out there, but can you name the best or most consistant one.
                                                                                                                                                            My favourite has to be Dr. Dre, but followed by Damizza and Daz. Y'all might disagree so give me yours then.

well.  there are two parts.  Dre is by far the "greatest". never will be touched.  now that doesn't mean he ALWAYS comes the best.  he is just royalty to when it comes to music.  he may not be the best in the eyes of many, but he the D-R-E. lol.  there is only one dre.  only one thing though, he only drops once a decade.

now DJ Quik is the most consistant.  IMO, that makes him the "best".  to me, there is a difference between "greatest" and the "best" sounding. Quik makes some of the best beats known to hip hop culture.  never stop fuking with the funk.  very under rated.  and the man never gave up. (until now. lol)  but he'll be back

Well let’s just say that my favourite rapper is DJ Quik but his style is sooo recognisable and to be the best I think you have to vary your style and bring different sounds that people wont be able to know you done that track you know.
Dre is far too over-rated. He keeps the same drum roll loop for all his music. Listen to the 2001 album. Same drum but with a different melody. Not much work went into this album production wise no matter how hot it might have sounded. Johnny J is a great producer in use of instruments and technique however he aint done sh*t in years so that labels him out.

2 under-rated producers are J-Flexx – the person who some say really produced “Natural Born Killaz” & “Keep Their Heads Ringing” I do believe he done the majority of the beat while dre just added his usual drum loop. Also done a few cuts for Chronic 2000 compilation.
Marv – Known producer of former deathrow inmate “Tha Realest”. I’m telling you – this producer is gonna be labelled one of the best by 2004 I GURENTEE that!! He can vary hs style and produce both coast sounds that sound hot. “When U Glisen” heard a snippet of this and “N Case I Don’t Wake Up”. He also produced the both versions of tracks “My Bullet Proof Soul” and “My Summertime Fling”. He’s gonna blow up soon.

However my choice is gonna have to go with Daz. He can produce so many different sounds that are amazing. Listen to “In California”, “Only 4 U”, “Feels So Good”, “Let’s Play House”, “Only Move for $$$”.. He might be sloppy some times but he can produce wide ranges of sounds. Soft, Hard, Slow, Funk – everything. Don’t particularly like the guy but he is in my opinion. DJ Quik still my favourite tho.

I would have to say tie between DRE and DJ Premier!  Also an honorable mentions should go to Timbaland, Pete Rock, and newcomer RJD2...they are right behind dre and premier if not on their level.............damn this is a hard question but plain and simple if anyone has skills i respect you!!!

Sir Jinx is tite and then theres QDIII, Rhythm D,Cold 187um, DJ U Neek, Yella, DJ Quik, Battlecat, Daz, Warren G, & Dre.... oh ya and also when Ice Cube use 2 produce it was tite as hell and how can ne1 forget Cold 187um or DJ U Neek? theres 2 many producers i like so i cant decide whos the BEST and dam Madness 4 Real there tite as hell iv never heard a bad beat from them
