ehhh hes alrigh i guess, i wouldnt rank him too high given that he never put out a really solid album after home invasion. OG is an undisputed classic tho. a few of my favorite ice t songs are the West coast all stars on from wayyy back and the one on that lawhouse album "your hustle aint on" that laylaw put out. i think i should get into this music more, he's pretty good.

He was talented.
You have 2 consider the time when he was on top.
He was Dope, period.
Even if you listen 2 his albums nowadays. The early ones are still dope.
Plus he had a very funny and intelligent way of bringing a message.

That Intelligent way, now is very hard 2 find.
Today.. is what I call punchline rappers. They gather a whole lot of punchlines.. and write a rhyme around it.

The later Albums like; Album 6 and 7 deadly sins. Are not classics but they are descent albums.
You could listen 2 them and dont feel cheated.
His last album was str8 wack.

"7th Deadly Sin" is my favorite album from him. It's a classic IMO. You can listen it from the start to the last song.

Dude's a legend, not really for being lyrical though, more for the overall choice of
what he's rapping about and being one of the first in that area.

I'd definitely put him high on a list of most influential MCs, but not that high
on just a technical lyricist type of MCs of list.

Legend/pioneer that trail blazed a path and blue print for west coast artists. If you have been listening to west coast music since the late 80's early 90's and can't put him in your top rappers list you need to re-evaluate. Nobody cant say shit about Ice i you don't believe me ask your favorite west coast rapper who they idolized coming up...

I grew up listening to him as a kid. I was 8 or nine and loved ice-T. First rap tape i ever bought was "rhyme pays" i didnt buy it in 1987 though.
I have his later albums too. Dont consider him the best rapper these days but i consider him  legend.
