Grand Theft Auto 5 Officially Announced

Rockstar Games has officially announced Grand Theft Auto 5 as the next game in the award-winning video game series. The announcement came in suitably mysterious style. Logging on to the Rockstar’s website leads to the above image … and not much else. Eagle eyes will notice the game’s trailer is set to hit on Nov. 2. Rockstar is also promoting the hashtag #GTAV to build social buzz.

Grand Theft Auto (GTA) gained tremendous acclaim — and a fair bit of notoriety — for its violent, open-world gameplay. Players can steal cars, kill innocents and rise in the ranks of local mafias and gangs. Grand Theft Auto is largely credited with popularizing open-world gameplay where players can deviate from a central plot to take on side tasks like driving a taxi, mini-games or simply wandering a digital city. Grand Theft Auto 5 will be the first GTA game since 2008′s Grand Theft Auto 4, which followed an Eastern European immigrant’s rise to power in New York City Liberty City.

With the announcement of Grand Theft Auto 5, the “Internet” has gone into high gear trying to make predictions about the game. The “5″ is clearly designed to resemble a paper bill but cash has always played a huge role in the GTA games.

Some are guessing GTA5 might be based in Hollywood though that, along with similar speculation, is more of a wish than a fact.

I'll pick up 5 though. Being in Hollywood would be good, but then San Adreas had a hollywood style town as well. I think Las Vegas or London would be good

4 was horrible, it was way too fucking easy, i don't understand why they didn't add all the features like they did in san andreas, or at least announce that they plan to add.

4 was just not traditional gta, beatthat shit in couple days, when i first bought it. waste of money.

Fuck that Gangsta scenario again. I think it will be different this time tho. According to the character description it won't be so hood based. Really disappointed about LA again. If they had to redo a city it should've been Vice City, way better feeling than Los Santos. I had hopes for sth new tho.

san Andreas was fucking dope, it was LA , i mean given I'm from LA and all my friends we loved it, it was the shit it felt like home, esp with all that dress code, 64s n foos hitting you up (gangbangin on you, since ur from europe i wouldn't expect you to know) esp since basically every kid wants to gang bang when growing up (at least when i was growing up)

it was dope, its like having gtaiv without the italians or some black crack dealers, vice city without hatians and cubans.

but i do want an LA atmosphere so all that should be there, it'll be nice if they put a koreatown in there too, given that koreatown has the only 24 hour venues (drinks after 2, karaoke bars (basically ppl go there to drink after 2 also), roombangs [karaoke bars which have girls to chill with basically halfway whores,] )

outside of downtown and hollywood, its just koreatown.
