He only sells out shows everywhere he goes...so, yeah, I don't think this Lil B guy is that popular.  The rap game hasn't been influenced by The BasedGod, either. He's just not a factor.  Top hats to the BasedGod!

having a lil internet cult/fandom doesn't mean your known, lots of hiphop heads don't ilke his music, i mean some didn't even believe he had any hype, i know theres a good amount of based god groupies, but dude aint known to a lot of hiphop heads nor do they like his style.

let alone REGULAR consumers/mainstream radio heads (which most people are anyways).

i use to really hate lil b until i did some research and realized that all he is doing is exposing hip hop for what it has become now and thats pretty sad that when he has serious songs with a good message they get overlooked but when he releases his gimmick shit like justin bieber or ellen degeneres or wonton soup he actually generates excitement from a lot of remedial fans. If anything he has earned my respect but i still wouldn't call him a dope rapper by any means. He does have a good beat selection at times i must say

j cole has national publicity, why? because he's on magazines ,tv shows, radio shows all over the country, and athletes and celebrities talk about his albums etc etc.
