What's goin on with Dawaun Parker these days?  I remember I used to read about him all the time on this forum.  Dre's new protege.  Did that EP he was planning ever drop?

Parker still puts stuff out, we got that 3rd track not that long ago from the EP, and as for Dre's team, they probably just wanted to do their own thing (eg: Focus said alot of his stuff wasn't making Aftermath albums despite contributing to probably all of em). His usual team coulda felt the same as way as Focus and bounced.

I think "Put it On Me" has one of the best bass lines ever re: a Dre beat

Dre song's co-produced with Elizondo always sounded polished with groovy bass-lines.

Most of his crazy beats were created with Storch/Elizondo/Batson.

Most of his crazy beats were created with The Glove and Colin Wolfe.

As for Mellowman, he was exposed on numerous occasions.  If I weren't lazy, I would go into vault and pull up the threads with me in them help out with the exposing, no homo.  First he said Truth Hurts' album was going to revolutionize R&B in the same way The Chronic revolutionized hip hop.  But more crushing to his credibility was when he said Dre had a diss track to Osama Bin Laden recorded and finished but that Dre had decided not to release it; and shortly after saying that, Dre had an interview where he said the Bin Laden diss track wasn't at all a finished track and that they were just messing around in the studio one day.

That was proof Mellowman was a fraud, because it shows how dude was just taking publicly-released press info and making logical extensions to seem as if he was on the inside.  In this example, he assumed too much and it bit him in the butt.  He started posted much less often after that, until one day he didn't post anymore.  He was just some dude with too much time on his hands.
"Detox" is a myth -- Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Area 51, Iraq having WMD, Detox...you get it now?  It was invented by the Aftermath marketing department to maintain the fans' attention.  Notice how everytime a new Aftermath album is ready to come out, they always mention Detox is next up?  Because they are using the invention of "Detox" as a way to market other albums.  The sooner you realize that Detox is NOT REAL, the sooner you'll feel liberated.  Oh yeah, f.u. Aftermath for fooling us fans.

Exactly, that sums it up perfectly. I don't understand how the fuck anyone could have believed that shit.

I remember reading one of his long ass posts, probably over 2000 words, about how close him and Dre are and how he would do anything for Dre and the Aftermath team, especially if Suge were to harm them. And then another one about him being in the studio waiting for Dre to show up, because Dre takes his time in the morning. What a fuckin joke that guy was. The only redeeming value to that guys posts was to get some sort of perspective of what was going on at the time through an obsessed fan's point of view.

Octo on the other hand has proven many times he at least has SOME sort of connections with Aftermath.

And I think this is the thread you're talking about:

Storch never bounced back after his personal problems imo ... Mike is still dope , not surprising the Dre beats on Relapse were better than what we are used to hear from Dre these latest years ... he's not posting here anymore though

Word? On that note what happened to Octo?

was wonderin about that too the other day...

Scott Storch - Sniffed away all his talent. If "under pressure" was any indication of their new "sound" then Dre and Scott  need to lose each others contact numbers

Mike Elizondo - He produces rock music now and is an executive at some other record label

Mark Batson - Still with Dre, he never went anywhere (Co produced Relapse and the 3 songs on BISD with Dre and D. Park)

nothing was confirmed, some of the dubcc staff just went along with it.....

Here Overseer gets pretty close to indirect confirmation: http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=82342.0

Maybe just a way to make the forum seem more interesting, or shall I say "connected".

Storch will make some type of partial comeback at least, even if it means just dropping some actual music, perhaps only with b-grade artists. He has some new stuff coming up that I'll post when it drops properly, at least one banger anyway.
