West Coast rap mogul Dr. Dre has clarified recent remarks suggesting he is taking an extended music hiatus and postponing plans to continue working on his long-awaited Detox album.

 








Currently traveling worldwide to promote his Beats By Dre headphones line, the Doc said he would continue work on Detox upon returning to the studio.

"Well, right now I'm just taking a small break to come out and do some promotion with Beats but actually I'm getting back on it when I get home. It has to feel good," Dre said in an interview when asked about taking a break from music. (Time Out)

Interscope Records CEO Jimmy Iovine also weighed in saying Detox is still a top priority.

"Well, you know, the thing is with Dre - we were talking about it today and [hesitates], he's not gonna put it out until it's right for the fans. It's fan-driven. He's a real perfectionist," Iovine added. "I want to make something clear. When Dre said 'I'm taking a break', he meant one week. He's here one week. That's the break. He goes back to the studio on Monday
