Slim The Mobster Announces Summer 2012 Release Date for ‘The Movie’ Album

The newest Aftermath signee Slim The Mobster announces the release of his upcoming album entitled ‘The Movie.’

Although Dr. Dre previously stated that he was taking a break from music personally, he did mention that he would be focusing on one of his upcoming artists, Slim The Mobster. After releasing his highly anticipated ‘War Music’ mixtape earlier this year, the South Central LA rapper announces the official title to his Aftermath studio debut album ‘The Movie.’

“I linked up with Dre, I just went to his studio with a CD, and pulled up to ask him if I could leave my CD. I left my number on a lottery ticket, and he called me back,” Slim The Mobster also added, “So that’s why my album is called The Movie, because a lot of things that happened in my life seem like a movie sometimes.”

Despite the recent announcements that Dr. Dre’s Detox album would be shelved indefinitely, Slim reveals that the much delayed Detox will in fact be released.

“I just been focused on working on Detox,” he continued to say, “I don’t think he said he’s not doing music. He’s still doing music. I think it’s probably going to come soon. People tend to forget that he’s not a rapper, so for him to make a rap album with him actually rapping, it’s kind of like a task.”

Slim The Mobster expressed that his new album should be released sometime during Summer of 2012. Check out the official interview with Bootleg Kev @

Somehow that's more or less what I was fearing. Or at least, not THAT soon... (Still think about Bishop to say the truth!) Anyway, hope time will prove us wrong.

Dres publicly done more for slim than he ever did for bishop or stat, although I don't see it dropping that soon

It's all cause of that interview with Dre where he said he's gonna take a break from music. According to Jimmy Iovine the break was only a week long.
"Hip Hop was better off when it was just Dre, Scarface, and Esco"
