That's why I tend to like East Coast as opposed to West Coast when you are talking about the veterans, and older rappers.... You look at the type of albums and material people like Nas, Masta Ace, Common, and to the likes of Guru a few years back before he died. All skilful, artsy, and jazzy uplifting for the most part.Then you look at the West Coast veterans such as Ice Cube, Snoop, and so on. They're (again for the most part) still bringing out albums at 40+ years old portraying that "gangsta" image, and talking about Crips, and gang-banging. That's why I always preferred East Coast music. The veterans grew up, or initially rapped on the mic without all that BS
