Dr. Dre is Europe's biggest troll. It's amazing how one man can cause so much hate just by not putting out an album. Y'all act like his ex-bitches over this.

typical euro: fuck Dr. Gay he broke up with me. He's working with WHO? Nelly?!! Oh no he didn't! That nigga ain't shit.

outside from psycho hustla i don't see who you're talking about in this thread, nobody really seemed pissed/hurt by the news.

Insecure American response. He probably looks at the next guys dick in the urinal.

Only when I'm in Britain.

That's really surprising he didn't blow up big time (like the Focus or Scott Storch & them) considering he's credited all over "2001" with Dre.

I honestly don't think Detox is ever gonna come out. The Chance is slim, but I mean why does Dre need a album out right now? Hes already made big fucking bucks through other artist, merchandising and stuff. The Two albums he came out with are both highly acclaimed (especially his Solo debut), He was part of the group that revolutionized the genre. If anything I don't consider him active, I consider him sorta semi-retired.

He can't make a come back if he never fell off. He's a producer first rapper second, all his beats are still well received. The only reason he ever released his sequel album was because he needed to establish himself  in the industry after the whole Death Row thing imploded. Hell thats why even his first one was released, because with N.W.A Breaking up need to establish his own image.

I mean he worked on The Chronic II on death row through out the Mid 90s and all he did was take his time on that. He left it got scrapped, he found eminem and started working on his second in what late 1997 throughout 1998 (if I recall the album was released in 1999. It didn't take him that long to find his groove or his sound. His signature sound is G-Funk, 2001 was G-Funk but with expanded growth. so if anything Detox will just be G-Funk but with a new twist.

So I think Detox is more like a pet project or a hobby album and isn't a priority at this point. their is no fire under his ass this time. Some the leaks he had this spaced out funk, which I loved. I know their is people out their waiting on that album to drop. Hell most of the industry on the west is riding his dick, waiting for his to drop before they drop theirs (I figure they hope it'd create another Splash effect). I say just forget about Detox, When the words "Its finished, I got a release date, and here is the sampler" Then get hyped.  8)

Yeh, Rage was meant to come out first on Death Row

Dre 'n Nelly on a track would be dope! The track he did with T.I was dope! But yeah, like everyone else on tha west I'd rather see him on a track with Knoc'Turn'Al or Tha Game.

2001 wasn't G Funk though. Dre hasn't produced G Funk records since the 2Pac album. He's abandoned that style completely and I doubt he'd revisit it. For someone who is a producer first he sure doesn't put much work in. For all these pictures and reports of him being in the studio 247, next to none of this music has come out.

Dre's career doesn't need another album, except for the fact Detox has become the first thing associated with him. All the delay and all the hype about it from Dre himself and every one else he's worked with has really bit him in the ass. If it comes out it may be a failure, but if it doesn't come out that will absolutely be a failure. His problem is he spends way too much time hyping up and "working on" projects that never come to fruition. From Detox, to all his "proteges" that never got an Aftermath album out.

2001 used G-Funk more or less as a bass. The soundscape for that album was more of a night time feel, like darker, in comparison to The Chronics sunny soundscape. Essentially most of Dre's Detox beats lean more towards the 2001 sound. Detox hasn't bit him in the ass, if anything its the only thing that kept him from falling into obscurity these past couple of years. I Mean when he helped eminem carreer revival it gave him a push, his INAD Single, despite being the homo-erotic anthem for 2011 sold well.

I Mean from what I can remember, A lot of these Detox interviews came during Down Time between his Dr. Pepper Commercial  and his latest Beats headphones. I Mean it doesn't surprise me it would take this long. Snoops Doggystyle is technically a unfinished album, they added the skits at the last minute to beef up the run time to  LP length because they couldn't finish recording the album in time. Hence why their isn't many left overs from those sessions. 2pac feud with Dre because the only two beats he contributed to his project were infact made a few years earlier before he even got signed, any production he did while tupac was their was pretty much the Toss it Up Beat which he sold to Black Street.

Eminem's earlier albums were co-produced by em himself if I remember correctly. Look at those old N.W.A studio sessions, Dr. Dre has always had a team to push him in some form or another.  Dr. Dre Perfectionism is the reason why he doesn't release all those tracks he produced. I Mean shit we get swamped by shitty albums by good artist all the time.  Why? Because they push out their product just to sell at the top of the hype. Look at Wiz Khalfia, his Kush and OJ was a good mixtape yet when he released his album Rolling Papers he didn't produced the same level of quality. Hell Snoop has been doing the same thing for a long time. Only albums I bump of his regularly are his first, second and the blue carpet treatment. Dr. Dre wants Detox to either Be his Magnum Opus (imo he already did that when he made The Chronic, course 2001 did sell more) or at the very least critically respected and high selling. But he knows he has no reason to push it out yet, His Company, his artist still get press, he making money.

The only reason I can see why people want him to, is because chances are their favorite rapper is waiting for it to be release, so they can piggy back on the "next wave" of the westcoast rise in the industry.

I really don't hear anything on 2001 that reminds me of G Funk. G Funk is basically P Funk samples. 2001 doesn't sample any funk
