Aftermath confuses me sooo Much!

Alright, so two years ago its announced... Rakim is on Aftermath... wow, people are excited... so forth and so forth... then... Eminem's third album is announced, wow, people are excited... then Dre's Detox album is announced... wow, shit gets exciting again...... so last year, people are like... wow... this is gonna be great... then what do we get??? We get Knoc-Turna'l... people are like who the fuck is he.. yes, he is on Elektra Records, but Dre put a lot of work into his album... so last year we dont get Rakim or Dre, we do get Eminem... only because the fans demanded it... so now everyone's like... yea, we are getting Rakim and Dre this year.... and what do we get???

he comes out of nowhere and now everyone will expect Rakim later...and expect Dre later... and well.... I dont expect them this year...

Eminem's album came out because fans demanded
it like you said but also Em done the majority of
the producing on the album. Wit 50 Cent i think
the buzz round him at the time when he joined
Aftermath/Shady made them think put his album
out first. Wit Rakim i do think is a bit of joke the
length of time they have had to drop an album and
they still haven't droped it and we don't know a
thing about the album, who will be on it? or what the
tracklisting looks like.
Dre's album i think Dre is scared that he might not
live up to the standards of his last two albums (both
the greatest albums to come out the west) so he is
taking forever trying to make it perfect.

i doubt it.. we all expect nuthin but superclassics so Dre gots to put work on these albums.. and i appreciate this work, i guess we all do cuz u know how anybody would be trippin if Dre's or Rakim's albums were released and just be dope but nothin special

and Dre didn't produce that much for Knoc he just got him mad attention by puttin him on Bad Intension and 2001..
but personally i wouldn't even mind seing Dre put work on Knoc's shit

50 cent is far from a noname...His street buzz was similar to what DMX was back in '98 before he released his album...50 was well known in the underground before Em even heard of him...I remember like 2 or 3 years ago hearing your Life's on the Line and How to Rob...Dre and Aftermath were smart to sign him, cause 50 is going to sell mad records, alot more than Knoc or even Rakim will sell...and basically that's what it's all about...

well i think as dude said em's album was released because he did most of the production, and 50's was released quicker because em did some prod. and the production dre did was prolly old beats so he really didn't have to put all that much work into it as u might think, but dre really should not have done xzibits album, i think its takin so long because he is really doubting himself because he thinks he won't live up to expectations, so just let the buzz die down a bit and we may get it sooner

Yea.. I feel you Big BPG.. but Ive tried to look at it from a different perspective.. Dre and Em and droppin music in a totally different market.  The music industry is sooo different from when The Original Chronic dropped.  Its hard as fuck to break new acts.. (I.E. Knoc.. Shade Sheist.. etc..) and its equally as hard to push old acts (like Rakim) when presented with "has been" beats.  This is why Dre turned down all of the beats that DJ Premier presented.  Dre and Em are trying to change the game.. PERIOD!!!! not just sell records.  And for that.. I admire Dre, EM and Aftermath.  They dont want to drop anything that could be remotely considered "recycled."

But on the flip side.. I feel you.. Dre does over promise shit.. (over hype) and has a history of pulling out at the last minute (I.E. King T.)  But the industry is all about hype dogg.  You gotta keep artists name in the the fans mouth.. so him working with Rakim gives the fan perception of CLASSIC material so other shit will sell in the mean time.  If the material doesnt come out quite as classic as expected.. then he moves on.  To be honest.. Im more pissed at Dre not fully supporting WC artist like Knoc and Hittman.. artists who've successfully generate a buzz all by they damn self.  Sure.. Im looking forward to Rakim.. but I could really give a fuck when compared to how much I was looking forward to Hittman.. Knoc.. or even King T.

yeah i feel u, i was really anticipating a hittman album after 2001, i mean he was on 2001 as much as snoop was on the chronic, i figured he was the next artist dre was gonna get out there. i felt dre shoulda put out a single off 2001 with hit on it, like hoes a housewife, light speed or let's get high. but instead he chose an eminem track and 2 with snoop. i mean he shoulda been introducing new cats to the game instead of having snoop on there, then he woulda had to get hit's album out cuz his buzz woulda been 2 much. thats why 2001 isn't put up there with the chronic, cuz it was more about sales than the original

LoL...Knock-Turnal dropped a 6 track EP on Elektra dawg...With Rakim and Dre, everyone is expecting a masterpeice, and nothing less...So it's only common sense that it will take more time to put together than 50 Cent, who is just a flavor of the mont type of cat...PeACe

Man 50's album has got to be realsed now because of all the hype surrownding him at the moment. Aftermath know that if they release Rakim and Cubes and Dre's at anytime they are going to sell because they are legends but if they wait like 6 months to drop 50's album then people will of got bored of him. They release it now then everybody picks it up to see what the hype is about and shit.  They aint dumb!
