The Wire is my favorite show of all time, but Mad Men might surpass it soon.  Gotta give major props to The Sopranos too though.  And Breaking Bad is also another elite show out there.

Then all the super classic cartoons they showed in Segments (Bugs Bunny, Daffy, etc). Course they showed em on blocks if I Remember, because those shows never had seasons back then.

Mini-Series: Band of Brothers, The Pacific, John Adams, I can't remember if their is any others, I only found out a few to these long after they came out.

danish mini-series "Riket" by Lars Von Trier, is sometin i watched recently on dvd. highly recommended
and i like "Prison Break", "OZ", "the time tunnel" (US-show from the 60's) and italian series "La Piovra"
