Keeping Mom & Pop Record shops Alive
« on: February 22, 2012, 12:40:46 PM »
My father started Cycadelic Music Corner in the mid 80's in Compton Ca. When rap music was on the rise and rappers would rap about real topics and real issues, not about how many drinks he had with how many bitches he slept with. Bootlegers, internet downloads and walmart pretty much started the dimise of us until rappers like B.G. Knocc Out, Glasses Malone, Nipsey Hussel, etc. with the help of local artist and promoters and record labels like laneway, urban kings, and so many more stepped up and helped us. It's so heart warming and brings me so much pride and respect to this game and the west coast !! We now Have a Record Label which is the home of B.G. Knocc Out. ( BTW We just finished the Japan Tour )

My way of giving back will be opening up a direct distribution channel to Japan and other Countries, opening avenues and doors to indepentant artist. Hit me up at Cycadelic.Records@gmail.com

it was a sad day when our local moms and pops closed up shop in 04...i grew up there and worked there for years

the internet fucked the money up...it got to the point where they were bootlegging too right out of the store.
