D12 or Slaughterhouse?
« on: March 08, 2012, 08:59:09 AM »
Shady Records is going all in with Slaughterhouse and it looks like D12 is on it's last legs.  But D12's first two albums were far better than anything Slaughterhouse has come up with.  Slaughterhouse is all punchlines and metaphors, but D12 has put out some really great music over the years.  And from the sounds of their mixtape and more recent releases, I would still put them above Slaughterhouse, even without Em.   Talent isn't everything.  Sure, Slaughterhouse has great talent.  But it's like listening to Chino XL.  It's just a line here, and a line there.

Devils night was a classic.  Every track was dope on that album.

D-12 World was the beginning of Eminem's decline, but he still had some juice left.  Tracks like "Good Morning" and "Good Die Young" , "How Come", "American Psycho 2" were all pretty solid cuts.

Outside of Proof's verses & a few nice cuts from Kuniva, Eminem made all their best songs.

"Good Die Young" is the only D-12 track that comes to mind that I consider great that doesn't feature Eminem.

D12 had some good songs, but even with just 1 album I have to say Slaughterhouse

Rap is not real, I don't care what they told you,
Fake people say fake things in their vocalbooth
- Soul Position - Mic Control

I make it hard to read me, graffiti flow - Rakim - Word On The Streets
