D.O.C. Leftovers - Bad calls?
« on: February 07, 2003, 09:07:07 PM »
As far as I can tell, these are the leftovers from the D.O.C.

XXX-files
Mass Confusion
Tha Shit (OG version feat. Xzibit)
Concrete Jungle (OG version feat. Kurupt)

They should all have been on the album if you axe me..  :(
They could easily have replaced average tracks like "All in da family", "Playboy" and some of the boring skits.

where can i hear the version with xzibit??

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

I think xxx files may have run into some sampling issues. didn't it use the schoolhouse rock beat? Im willing to bet the beat had something to do with it's non-release...

I wish I coulda heard it in it's full version, it sounds fresh
