N2Deep appreciation thread

time for some V-Town mobb shit

seriously i never see them mentioned, average rappers but tight group nonetheless. these guys are pioneers (the first vallejo rappers to go gold in 1992) and have solid releases under their belt. Back 2 The Hotel may be their best selling but I think they reached their prime with 24-7-365 and Golden State. the main attraction is their vintage, mobbed out beats mostly handed by Johnny Z, and K-Lou.

JT is a cool rapper, i liked his album with Baby Beesh in 02, nothing overwhelming but  "what's going on" with frost is pure eargasm 8)

yeah they're part mexican (jay tee is half mexican i think, just like his latino velvet co-star baby beesh, dunno about TL) but their music isn't really focused on their ethnicity or heritage... i guess peeps from Vallejo used to get down with everybody (they collaborated heavily with E-40, B-Legit & also Crestside Rappers, Potna Deuce had black & brown rappers).

yeah golden state is a classic but i think i prefer 24-7-365, good stuff nonetheless. i haven't really followed 40 Ounces records' releases but I liked everything Jay Tee was affiliated with. Latino Velvet, etc. speaking of Latino Velvet, Baby Bash was dope back in the day, I mean i don't know too much about his music with Dope House Records & SPM when he relocated to Texas, but his Potna Deuce / Latino Velvet era produced very good music.
