There was one track he wanted to use called "The year after", bringing us back to the two faced n-gga Sean Thomas the keyboard, I let him hear the song and he played keyboards on the original song so he went back and told Dre before the record came out. At the time I was pissed of at him but I should have thanked him because that gave me a chance to remix the record.

Thanks. Nice site :)

I miss the days when you used to be able to download original files from Myspace through file2hd.com. That site was the shit!

So what's next for Slim? Hope he won't be completely overshadowed by Kendrick & TDE... Hopefully Dre can release ALL of their albums on the Math!

speaking of the erotic d/barney rubble connection.... i remember erotic d saying in one interview that he brought barney to dre, and that barney and erotic d worked together in texas.

and then there was this group called "life afta death"... that had a few songs out.... around 92/93. and on discogs, barney rubble is listed as the keyboardist for the group, and the only rapper i hear on their songs is erotic d.

i have a total of four of their songs, all from random compilations i found on the net. erotic d mentioned, in that same interview, i song he did with barney rubble that basically morphed into murder was the case... well the beat did.... and "words of a dead man" by life afta death definitely shares some elements beat wise with murder was the case. anyone else have that song or know what i'm talking about??? lol. and erotic d shouts out 92 or 93 on all four life afta death songs... so i know that they are actually from that era lol.

edit: actually now that i listen to the two songs back to back, i'm not sure exactly how similar they really are... but words of a dead man is still a dope ass song lol

i don't have the full album. i have 4 songs from it, pretty much all from random compilations. a vls from the album is on discogs, and barney rubble is listed as the keyboardist, which would make sense since erotic d is shouting out 92/93 on the songs and erotic d was working with him at the time. though i don't know if these songs were done in texas or cali, or both.

i'm sure this album is floating around somewhere, or purchaseable on a collector site...

  • Detox is the biggest marketing deception on Earth
Dope G-Funk banger.  :o  So hot I'm burning up  :firedevil:
"Detox" is a myth -- Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Area 51, Iraq having WMD, Detox...you get it now?  It was invented by the Aftermath marketing department to maintain the fans' attention.  Notice how everytime a new Aftermath album is ready to come out, they always mention Detox is next up?  Because they are using the invention of "Detox" as a way to market other albums.  The sooner you realize that Detox is NOT REAL, the sooner you'll feel liberated.  Oh yeah, f.u. Aftermath for fooling us fans.

Thanks for the post, cool track.

I noticed a striking similarity in some of the synths on this track with the synths on California Love (which Sean Thomas was also credited for playing the keys on both the original and remix). Specifically the "whistle" sounding synths.
