Sure most people know this story already.  It's all in that CLASSIC CLASSIC Source issue with Dre on the cover and the Death Row chair behind him declaring his independence in summer of 96 (still the best mag ever).

Dre says he wanted to name the label Black Market Records, but some underground rap crew already had the name.  So he tried to buy them out offering good money like $100,000 or so but they just kept uppin the price.  So finally Dre said fuck it and named it Aftermath.

Black Market Records put out some great music with doomsday productions, Brotha Lynch, etc.  100k is insulting when you've already established your brand.

OHHH Shit.. I forgot about Rap God Brotha Lynch Hung.  How could I have forgotten about such a phenomenal artist.  He's certainly one for the ages.. too bad I've actually never heard 1 of his songs.  Bay Area rap sucks anyway, no wonder it's popular amongst all the ignorant Kansas City rap fans around here.

Bay Area rap sucks anyway,

You do know that 2pac is considered a bay artist, on almost all his early albums he represented Oakland.  I swear the ignorance you spew makes the term "nigger" seem like a synonym for "Intelligence"

You realize this is grounds for the L.A.M.B. crew to sever ties with you?
