^^Snoops version sounds the most accurate to me.  Here's more or less how the key players said it went down (just paraphrasing in my own words)...

Nas:   I saw Pac at the MTV music awards, went up and grabbed him from behind like "What's up".  He was like "Nas" I was like "Pac", and I told him I don't have no beef with you.  And he told me if you don't have no beef then I don't have no beef.

Suge:  Pac and Suge met at the MTV music awards, Nas was cool, they actually deaded their beef.  Pac told me he was gonna take the diss off his album (7 Day Theory), but he passed so he didn't have time to redo it, so we had to put it out as it was.

Nas brother Jungle:  I was ready to pull my gun out and shoot Pac, but then Nas gave the sign and they ended their beef.

Snoop:  Nas had like 100 goons with him, real kilers.  Pac just went right up on him and grabbed him.  But Nas turned around and shook Pac's hand and said he loved him.  Pac told him he had a song on his album dissing him, and all the other big East Coast rappers, but Nas just shook his hand and gave the signal to his goons not to shoot Pac.  Afterwards Pac said, "See I got these niggaz (punkin out)."

This is a rare case where all the versions sound really similar. Except for Nas's wackass brother trying to write himself into history with that "I was gonna kill Pac" shit.

Sounds like Nas was there with his dudes, Pac approached him, Nas probably got at him like "yo man, wtf is yo beef with me" and Pac probably said somethin like "it aint personal, im goin at everybody sidin with my enemies", they talked it out and let it go. I don't for one damn second believe that bullshit Nas said on VH1 about Pac inviting him to Vegas tho.

I remember reading other accounts that said they never squashed their beef too so who knows. That would be crazy if Pac was close to being murdered days before he was murdered by a different killer.

Yeah, Nas and Jungle were telling stories trying to make Nas sound larger than he was.  They tried to make it sound like Nas approached Pac and that Pac then quickly agreed to remove the disses from the album and invited him out to Vegas.  Bullshit.

I say Nas basically backed down, at which point Pac may have offered to dead the beef.

Fatal's version makes Pac sound worst lol. His version is Pac had 80 dudes vs Nas with his 3 homies. Atleast in Snoop's version he made Pac look like Superman.

true.  Snoop actually kind of made himself look bad and Pac look like Superman.  It made it sound like Pac had his back after the "New York, New York" shooting and that Snoop just decided after his trial that he was shook and didn't want to take on the challenge anymore, so Pac had to bear the burden without him.

Fatal crashed Pac's Toyota Landcruiser (not Jeep) and had left California immediately since he didn't want to get beat up, which he has said in past interviews likely would've been the case ("He'd have had the niggas jump me"). Apparently Suge suggested to Pac to fly Fatal back to California to "discipline" him. But Fatal being on the East Coast definitely helped provide a crew during the MTV awards since it's just a drive away rather than having to fly an entire plane of goons across the country.

But the way the story goes from Fatal's point of view (though that video has been removed from YouTube) was somewhat in line with Snoop's recollection though the size of their crews differed (Snoop said Pac had 30 people and Nas had 50 people but Fatal said different), plus Fatal and his crew had guns on them and were ready to use them. He said they asked Pac if he wanted them to do anything, but since the beef was pretty much over, he told them to leave Nas alone.

Like I said in my previous post, that wasn't the case.  It was Frank Alexander (who is known for making factual errors) who first suggested that Pac sent Fatal back after crashing the Landcruiser, but like I said, Fatal said in an interview that he wanted to leave since he didn't want to get in trouble.  He also dismissed the original claim of Pac sending him back home, which he said would be nothing to him while also saying that "shit would've been way more severe" if Pac had really confronted him.

to say i was gonna shoot pac sounds real bad in this age when hes so legendary but remember the climate of rap in 96?

i could name a list of rappers that probably would have shot dude too if given the chance  back in that era. we know rap as of now to be all hollywood glitz and glamour but rap was a lil different back then everyone was being extorted and had clicks going against other clicks behind the scenes and shit was real grimy because in them days rap was the best way gangstas could clean they money.

i bet prodigy, lil cease and a whole bunch of other niggas said those words, at least dude was real enough to say what his mindframe was.
