Johnny J died on October 3, 2008 at the age of 39, while serving a sentence for DWI in the Twin Towers Correctional Facility located in Los Angeles, California. He allegedly jumped off an upper tier of the prison in an apparent suicide

Well, jail isn't a fun place... damn near everyone will run into the gangs at some point.  It's a shame what happened, but he had been busted for DUIs before, and this one was likely going to land him in jail for a much longer period of time.
