Sources at Priority/Capitol have confirmed that Los Angeles based rapper Ras Kass is on the run from Los Angeles police. The rapper, whose real name is John Austin, was apparently supposed to turn himself in for sentencing on January 12th, 2003, but failed to show. According to sources, Austin had
recently been charged with his third DUI and was slated to start serving the mandatory nine months. Instead of turning himself in, sources say, the rapper has apparently fled to New York City.

Unfortunately, this series of events may further delay Ras Kass' much anticipated third album Goldyn Chyld, which was slated to feature high profile collaborations with Dr. Dre, Xzibit, Pharoahe Monch, Hi Tek, DJ Premier and Scott Storch. After much publicity Ras' last album Van Gogh never got released. Contrabandit.com wishes Ras and his family well during this trying time.

actually it's quite the opposite, it's for drunk drivin meaning the charge won't be serious and it will draw attention to him
