Advice for Gift Reynolds

So, I just watched that dope Summer Jam show on Youtube featuring Quik, 2nd II None, AMG, Hi-C, Playa Hamm, and Suga Free. The Show is fuckin awesome.

It occurred to me, while watching the show, what Gift Reynolds needs to do to grow his fan base: grow a personality.

All the members of the Skanless crew had personality.

Quik - the best. Good personality, good lyrics.

2nd II None - decent personality, decent lyrics.

Hi-C - all personality, no lyrics. Still a fun rapper.

AMG - funny personality, dope lyrics. Good combo.

Playa Hamm - mediocre on both counts.

Suga Free - enormous personality, good lyrics.

Gift Reynolds is a pretty decent lyricist, but he needs to get some of that AMG/Hi-C/Quik humor talking about fucking bitches and doing scandalous shit like they talk about. Then he'd sound better with the homie Quik.

But, Playa Hamm is mediocre? Dude is a underrated, listen to de album "Layin Hands" .

That album has no production of DJ Quik, it's still a classic.



Gift Reynolds will never be on their level.

First, because he is not from California. (OK AMG was born in Brooklyn) (but raised in LA).
Reynolds is from Detroit, until recently had never been to LA.
And also, he sounds like a generic Big Sean.

Skanless Crew is a LA based cliquee.

Who should be in his place, was called Mausberg.

I wish it too...one of the most tragic deaths in hip hop history, because the guy simply did not have time to realize his potential and leave us with a large body of work.

RIP Mausberg the superb...tha realest.
