Do You Remember is a classic West Coast G-Funk track, that song alone is worth the $18 I paid this morning for the deluxe edition.

Lots of great songs. E-40's flow is only getting better with time. Short is consistent, simple rhymes, but full of game. I'm digging it.

"Cali," "This Shit Pound," and "West Coast Shit" are also dope.

I think they fucked up throwing other people on the "Cali" track...that song could easily be a million dollar single. The sample is so recognizable, song will definitely blow up quick, and probably get more play than "Bitch."

MOB MUSIC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> FUNCTION MUSIC

they try to come old school with it, still with some new shit, 40s flow on point always... short a little inconsistant these days but he comes correct on most of MOB MUSIC,. function music aint workin to well for me. mob music will get some spins around my way.

Has a good amount of  8) 8) 8) 8) 8) , but wish it felt more authentic..Needs Levitti , Celly , Spice guest spots and the beats half mob-half function instead of mob all the way .

Everyone is saying this album is much better than Function Music, but I think that is people just confirming what they expected. Function Music is filled with slappers front to back. Great lyrics and beats all around. Mob Music is dope as hell, don't get me wrong, but it's not so much better than Function Music. Both are solid and dope.

Mob Music - 3.5/5
Function Music - 3/5

"Ballin' Is Fun", "Do U Remember", "Ask About Me" were my favorites probably

Same here, those are the best songs imo. "Stressin" was a cool too. I think "Fire Fighter" had a pretty decent beat, could have been a good track but the weak-ass hook messed it up for me. Lyrically 40 and $hort did what they do; 40 still spittin' and Short has always had a simple style but that's him and he's still good at it. My main problem with the Mob Music disc was that if they split the music into Mob Music and Function Music then the Mob Music disc should have been nothing but Mob Music; it was still about half function which was a let down for me. I'm not a fan of the function style, the beats don't do it for me at all so I can't really rate the album any higher than 3.0/5. As much as I would have liked to buy both cds, I only bought the Mob disc to show support for that Mob style.

And on a side note, I would have liked to have heard Ice Cube and Suga Free on the Mob side, maybe with more Battlecat beats; but it didn't happen so  ::) .

Is anyone on DubCC allowed to admit to liking Function music?

Or do you have to be a young nigga under 30, getting money and fuckin bitches, in order to like Function music?
