Nate dogg was cold with it!!!

never heard this song until i logged on spotify and searched snoop dogg well this weird album called real life gangsters is the newest on there. but it has old songs. songs ive heard like the above the law and xzibit jam.

Maybe someone could shed more light on this song. I remember upon seeing an ad for the album "Thug Lyfestyles" I was thinking this track was going to be straight from the DR vaults, but it was clearly recorded after (or re-recorded), sometime in the early 2000's.

Nate mentions shaking "that record deal", Snoop is rapping in his lazier post DR flow style; emphasizing inflections and vowels instead of rhyming words (e.x. "step through the gi-dooooow") and the beat sounded less like something we would have heard from 96-97. Clearly Prince Ital's verse is a relic though. 

I could be completely wrong here, just sounds "off" for a DR era song. Anyone wanna drop some knowledge?

Ain't a DR song. No way Prince Ital Joe, Nate Dogg or Snoop were signed on Death Row Records when this song was recorded. Prince Ital Joe only gave his vocals for Death Row artists. His studio album was surely (perhaps) recorded on studios Death Row use to used too. And even if a Death Row engineer (Dave Aron) recorded the stuff, it's not Death Row material...
