Africa 2012/2013 Traveling Book Of Rhymes
TraceOneInfinite:
What language does the traveler dream in?
What world does he sleep in?
Three weeks into my new world
and a funny occurrence occurred
My first truly Gambian dream!
There I was at a lively venue
spending freely without looking
at the prices on the menu
Till finally after a timeless night
amongst my treasured friends
My bill was due - when just then--
I was informed a faded face had picked up the tab!
...One of the best dreams I ever had.
TraceOneInfinite:
The competitiveness of my youth
At some point all got confused
when stressed mounted up
enough to derail me
I lost my good mind
Until their good words brought me back
These words that can be a shield
be a blanket, be a happiness in fact
The good phrases that bring context and meaning
and elevate you to higher states of being
It starts with the train of thought and then manifests
Next thing you know your in a West African sunset
Under the "red" sun, and walking on "red' sand
Still challenged by life but rising to the challenge
Cause the sounds your hearing bring about balance
Kind words of a friend, harmony and melody of a song
Till suddenly you can do no wrong
and everything is everything, just life going on and on...
TraceOneInfinite:
In Western life,
time is an enemy,
every conversation is rushed
every interaction preoccupied with time
the clock is our lord and master
In Africa there is no time
sometimes you just sit with others
no conversation
nothing to be done
nothing more to be said
just sitting
in the way the sand sits on a beach
for no other purpose
but to know your alive.
MUHFUKKA:
not too sure about the rhyming part
Reef:
Like this alot. You feel the different styles and different moods in each verse. The pics are cool too, put a bit of context to everything. Liking this..
