so this year will SchoolBoy Q be next to blow?
« on: February 05, 2013, 08:35:29 PM »
I read somewhere that his Interscope debut may drop later this year?

dude definitely already has a core fan-base as a solo artist plus all the TDE/ASAP fans... 2013 could be his year if he builds enough momentum for the label to push the button

Yeah 2013 should be his turn. "Habits" was dope as fuck and I still play it every other week, so looking forward to seeing what he can do with the machine behind him.

He has his moments, but for me the weakest out of black hippy. Surely would check out an album, though.

The 4 members of Black Hippy are so different when it comes to rap/style that I can't see how to compare or rank them.

i dont think he will BLOW UP like kendrick because kendrick is more marketable. but then again in hip hop smoking weed an doin drugs is whats bein marketed(trinidad james) to me schoolboy Q doesnt have enough charisma to keep me listening to him throughout a whole album. even his two mixtapes i heard i liked them but to say they are easliy listenable is hard for me. so for me honestly i dont think he will blow but have a quiet successful year like curren$y constantly has.

I don't think he'll reach Kendrick's level of stardom either but he definitely will have enough buzz to drop a major album and be amongst the elite

Depends on Interscope. It will be interesting to see if they will now promote the other artists on TDE, the Black Hippy group or just bypass that and go into Kendrick's 2nd album. Is Jay Rock still on Strange?

Hard. If "There He Go" and "Hands On The Wheel" had interscope behind them Schoolboy would of done fine, his album will easily be in my top 5 most anticipated for 2013. Looks like that Ab Soul and JMSN album is up next, don't knowif interscope is backing that though.

I like K. Dot but he will soon fade away and go back to pushing street albums.  If Interscope is smart, they will push Schoolboy Q immediately; seeing the success that ASAP is having.

In this case it's easy. I just enjoy his music the least and his raps are the least appealing to me. I know what you mean, though.
