I bought the album the day it came out, and was MAD disappointed.

However, back then, i didnt have alot of other shit to listen to so me and my crew just kept bumping it, and eventually i realized it is DOPE.  Ya, its not Doggystyle, who cares?  I think it is SNoops second best album, and definitely his most consistent next to DOggystyle.  NOt a wack track on there, and songs like Groupie, DOwntown Assassins, and Wake up are classic, as is the whole album.  SOme people just never gave this album the time, and that is sad-

Yupp. I bought it the day it came out too, but I loved it from the start. that was back when Snoop was my favorite rapper and I had been waiting for that new album for a minute. I always really liked the whole cd, i never really compared it Doggystyle, just listened to it in its own right. Great album

I think Tha Doggfather is a dope album.  Downtown Assasins and Sixxx Minutes are a couple of my favorite Snoop tracks.

i wasnt sure at first coz i was expecting more doggystyle tyoe shit.. i found it to be quite a dark album... took me a while to get into it... but it is dope.. just a different blend of dope
