There were like 45 people in the stadium lol.  Why don't those idiots trade Hernandez while they can and get a good core to build around?

Because if Felix Hernandez goes elsewhere, the M's fans (all 45 of them) will go elsewhere as well.

no offense man but ya'll are destined for 3rd and 4th place finishes with Felix

might as well see if you can get something for him before he passes his prime in a few years...he does log a lot of innings which is bad for his long term potential

well i know you raped the Yankees on that Montero trade...and the Jay Buhner trade a decade plus earlier

umm I remember how ya'll had the best pitcher ever (Randy Johnson) and 2 of the top 20 hitters ever (A-rod and Ken Griffey) but failed to win a title

ya'll set the record for most wins in 2001 but lost to the YAnkees in the playoffs

umm i don't think you've had more than 3 winning seasons since that gloried 2001 season

ya'll had JJ Putz when he was good

what else do u wanna know homie?

lol, I just get annoyed by posts like that about how we have to trade the guy. Like you said, we had Griffey, A-Rod, and Johnson and they all wanted to leave for one reason or another. We signed Beltre to a huge contract and he flopped. We tried to trade for Justin Upton this offseason and he rejected the deal. With Felix, we have a superstar who actually wants to be here which is important to fans. Plus, if we move him that's no guarantee it would even work, look at recent pitcher for offensive package trades, they don't always work out. Going back to the Mariners, we traded Cliff Lee for Justin Smoak who was supposed to be can't miss and has been a complete failure so far. We acquired Montero who I think will be fine but I don't really see him as the can't miss prospect he was seen as during part of his time with NY. We have one of the best ranked farm systems in baseball (which was non-existent when Jack-Z got hired a few years ago) but you never know how prospects are going to turn out. Now, if we could have flipped Felix for a Jacoby Ellsuburry or Robinson Cano type then I'd certainly listen, but whose to say they were even on the table. Either way, as someone who watches the team everyday I just find the sentiment that we needed to get rid of him to be ridiculous. Even most national types have come around to the fact that re-signing him was a good move considering the fact that he wants to be here. Now, if we're a cellar dwelling team for the next five years then I'll agree with you, but we have plenty of nice pieces in place to the point that we certainly have the ability to play winning baseball and beyond the next few years.

Also,LOL @ JJ Putz, I remember him talking about how a bunch of guys wanted to kick Ichiro's ass after the 2008 season. As for the winning seasons thing, yeah it's been shit since the early 2000's but we finally have a guy that actually knows what he's doing in the front office and it takes a while to rebuild an entire baseball team. I'd have to type an essay about how awful Bill Bevasi was but I'll just leave it as he left our team in the shitter.

Speaking of ex-Mariners superstars I'm going to be bold and say that absolutely none of them will go into the HoF as a Mariner.

Ken Griffey Jr. will go in as a Red.
Randy Johnson will go in as a Diamondback.
Alex Rodriguez (if he does get in) will go in as a Yankee.
Ichiro Suzuki will go in as a Yankee.
Edgar Martinez won't go in because the voters seem to hate DH's who didn't have 3000 hits.

Yes, I'm sorry to the people in Seattle but this is inevitable.

lmfao why would Griffey go in as a Red? His career went in the crapper in Cincinatti. All of his good years outside of a few lower level ones were in Seattle. And as bad as the M's were when he was here they didn't make the playoffs at all in Cincinatti while he was there. Dude has visited the M's spring training every year since he's retired to work with the young guys. No offense but that's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. I'd argue the Ichiro case with you and don't think he'll go in as a Yankee but I don't really give a shit about him anyways.

The Mariners (as well as the Padres and Marlins) can't be represented in the HoF. The fate of the universe depends on it.
