T.I. wants to sign Problem to Grand Hustle Records
« on: May 09, 2013, 11:30:57 AM »
In a new interview with Hood Rich Radio, T.I. revealed that he's open to expanding Hustle Gang further. "I got my eyes on a couple cats, I'm going at them," T.I. said when asked about the status of the collective. He began with a former TVT Records artist-turned-charting act at Polo Grounds/RCA Records from Memphis, Tennessee. "One, very familiar to everyone, go' by the name of Yo Gotti. We may be able to work together." He next highlighted a longtime artist in Snoop Lion's camp. "Another cat by the name of Problem, out in the West Coast." He also spotlighted two more major label acts that walk the line between singing and rapping. "I been talking to Jeremih, try'na see how he can involve himself with this Hustle [Gang]. I've been talking to Kirko [Bangz] too." Jeremih and Kirko Bangz are signed to Def Jam Records and Atlantic/Warner Bros. Records, respectively.

Has T.I actually dropped one of his artist albums? Only cats I would sign with in this day and age is Rick Ross and Jay Z or TDE. Other then that I'd hit the Indy route, westcoast artist haven't had much success signing with these south cats.

B.o.B and Iggy Azalea have been pretty successful no? But cater to a completely different fanbase than Problem or Yo Gotti so I'm not sure if that really says anything.

I doubt Dre dropped peeps like Hittman, Bishop, Slim & others left & right to sign Problem?
But dude can surely succeed on some other label. I their interest for him is genuine & if they willing to invest in him, them so much the better, he don't got nothing to lose & he been showing the past few months he HUNGRY enough & surely go the "WORK ETHIC" it takes to make it!
(& by the way, I been telling it like 4 to 6 months ago, 2013 was going to be Problem's year... or he won't make it at all...)

Personally the one artist I'd like to see T.I. sign to Grand Hustle is Nipsey Hussle.

Jay-Z is probably the worst rapper/CEO you could sign to. Look how long he sat on J.Cole's album. And where's Jay Electronica?

Meanwhile did you see how BOB skyrocketed?
