the Mets future is looking pretty bright

as a Yankee fan I rarely find myself watching a Mets game
but this Wheeler kid looked good for the times I watched him tonight against Atlanta. He does have to limit his walks but son went 6 scoreless innings.
what's sad is that the Mets could have had this kid starting from the beginning of the year but the Mets were too cheap to want to go to arbitration with him in the future so they waited out the first 2 months and basically didn't care about making the playoffs as long as they save a few bucks with this kid. Cheap-ass Wilpons aka the Coupons.
in 2-3 years Wheeler and Matt Harvey will be a top notch 1-2 tandem but it sucks for MEts fans that Wright will be past his prime by then and they have no top notch hitters besides him. Maybe they go into free agency to find someone but I doubt it with that cheapass ownership.

I saw that game as well, or at least a highlight reel. Wheeler just might be a better contributor for the Mets than Beltran was.
Personally I think that the way the Mets handled Wheeler was smart. At the beginning of the year Wheeler could've used some mor experience in triple A plus the super two thing can only work in the Mets' favor. I mean they could've had Wheeler from the start but the Mets knew that they weren't going anywhere, not with that offense that's Wright and a bunch of nobodies, might as well get Wheeler some more experience in AAA and save a few dollars for the future.
Now the pieces that have yet to come up that are part of the Mets' future are d'Arnaud whom many consider to be the next Piazza and Syndergaard who'll be a formidable 4th starter in the Mets' future rotation with Harvey, Wheeler and Niese.
