Johnny J

Sorry if this has been spoken about before...i must have missed it if it has.

But has anything new come to light about Johnny J's death because i don't believe for one second
that he "jumped" off an upper tier in the prison to kill himself....he was only in there for a DWI.
More like his was thrown over!!

But i don't suppose any info on that would be released by the prison if it was murder though would it?

Johnny J wife - Capucine Jackson aka Coppe Cantrell told in an interview soem time ago, that he called her from the prison 20 minutes before his death and told her he was going to kill himself. Many of his friends and fans don't believe it was a suicide, but we don't have evidence therefor we should all stick to what he know from J's wife and end this painfull topic... RIP Johnny 'J'.

I thought I read somewhere that he caused the death of somebody in the DUI he was in jail for when he died. I couldn't find any more info on it it, but if that is true then that would most definitely be motive for him to commit suicide. It's a sad situation no matter what happened.

On a brighter note, All Eyez On Us is supposedly gonna get released soon.

Haha, no im not one for buying into these conspiracy theory's or blaming the illuminati for every black entertainer's death.
But i did always find the Johnny J suicide thing abit suspect and we all know what kind of people are locked away in prison's
who would not think twice about killing somebody.

But his wife saying what she said about the phone call has cleared that one up!!

As far as im aware Frank Alexander shot himself by accident. I very much doubt it was anything to do with anything else. Why would he get killed
for things to do with 2Pac's death 16 years later?

As for Suge...Pac was killed by Orlando Anderson, the police has even said that but could not do anything as the LVPD were not playing ball with the LAPD so thats the end of that story!

Several reasons. First being that the Makaveli album was intended to be a promotional release for his Makaveli Records label. One Nation & Outlaw Immortalz were to be the focal point from the label although One Nation was to be a joint venture via Duckdown. 2Pac was set to star in the Def Jam movie "How To be a Player" that featured Pierre Edwards. This is the guy who was also on one of 2Pac's last videos (All About U) so his schedule was going to be busy including the other film roles offered. Acting was where his heart was, but he was still fully behind the music and to continue with nonstop productions with Johnny J, and also with QD3 too.

Johnny J wasn't around during the short time the album was made. A lot around were surprised at how quick the album was carried out, and the rush was one of the reasons most of the producers in the B room were on it, as DPG were in the other

Johnny J has had multiple DUIs, and if you keep getting busted for them, your sentence will be a lot longer each time.  Your first one, you might get an overnighter, but after that, it's a MUCH longer stay.

The Outlawz were quoted as saying that Pac was looking for a new sound, which matches how he had been growing as an artist during the last few months of his life.  Or maybe Johnny J just wasn't hanging around Death Row as much, especially if they weren't paying him any money for his production credits from All Eyez on Me, so he stepped back.  Plus it's not just Makaveli... we didn't really see any of his beats on One Nation or on some of the last tracks he ended up doing.

At the time it came out in late '96, the Makaveli album had literally no promotion and no one was ready for the change of style after All Eyez On Me. It was intended to be sold only at the swap meets and was to be an underground album only (until 'Pac died.)

On a side note, (no hate on anyone on this forum), but everybody gets the album name wrong. It should be:
Makaveli The Don - Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory

Writing it any other way makes no sense.

Johnny 'J' left Death Row in June 96 because he wasen't getting paid for his job - simple as that. They wanted him to produce more beats for 'Pac, but he wasen't getting any royalties for his work on "All Eyez On Me", even tho the album was certified 4x platinum at that time...

Not "one of" - THE BEST. Johnny 'J' was the man and 'Pac never sounded better - it was a perfect fit.
