What about traditional Maori tattoos?

That might be an exception.
If you look at the traditional Maori designs they move in lines that qi can travel along, also similar to how qi behaves.
There is a possibility that the old Maori tattoo artists had a knowledge of this and were able to place the lines onto the pathways and enhance/modify the flow.
But I don't think many have the knowledge any longer.
