Mental- 2Pac

Funny thing is, Kurupt mentions a Mental who gave him his rap name and then died (watch Kurupt on Snoops GGN) so maybe Kurupt ran with the same people 'Pac did before they connected in the rap game.

It's possible. The guy named "Mental" who 2pac commemorates was in a rap group with Big Syke in the early 90s - I forge their name - and he rapped in one of their songs: "my only fear of death is coming back reincarnated." That's where Pac picked up that line and he attributes it to Mental in a few places, I think on Only God Can Judge Me he says it and then says "that's for the homie Mental."

^The group was Evil Mind Gangstas, the line in only fear of death was from this:

But I'm a do it like this so your crew will know
Tie your leg to a car, tie the other to a pole
Talk shit and laugh cause I got the gift of gab
Hop in the car, hit the gas, watch your ass split in half

Guys like Pun and Biggie shouldn't count, they were already stars.

I gotta go with Ill Will. Nas has been reppin his homie since Illmatic and he was just a street dude / friend.

Stretch gets a vote too. Dude got shutouts by Pac and Biggie.
