Not true. The Lakers are tied with the Celtics IF you count the NBL. If you don't, and many don't, then it's the Celtics that have the highest. This is a fact.

That might be how things are in Israel (I've never been there myself so I don't know how things are there) but I know that Joe DiMaggio is more well known in other Asian countries (Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, The Philippines to name a few that I've been to). More than anything because in the far-eastern part of Asia baseball is a lot more popular than basketball, not to mention his relationship with the immortal Marilyn Monroe. The only people in far-east Asia who know who Shaq, Kobe, Magic etc... are are NBA fans who follow the sport religiously. Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio are far more easily recognized names in the far-east than any basketball player.
That said, I wonder who's the bigger name in Europe (Britain, France, Italy etc...), Babe Ruth or Michael Jordan?

Michael Jordan and its not even close..
I know ur an MLB fan and all, but u gota understand that basketball is much more global sport than baseball, more Asians may play baseball, but EVERY country plays basketball.. the name magic Johnson is far more universal than DiMaggio .. Come on now

Still nowhere close to as known as magic Johnson internationally

Way more Finals and playoff appearances = higher succes rate. If one team makes the finals and another team doesn't, which one was more successful? Plus, relevance through every era and no real dry spell like the celtics had for 2 decades, and it's really not even close
