Did Dr. Dre and Eminem have a fallout or the Doc lost his magic touch ?

How come Em went from "The guy who barely saved my life" to "I need a doctor" and then don't have the Doc invovle on TMMLP 2 ?
No feature, no production and he asked Rick Rubin to do the executive production on the lp.
I know Dre is listed also but i 'm sure he's not involved. That's not too différent from GKMC.

dre was pretty involved with GKMC, plenty of 'mixing' credits and likely uncredited input besides that. they were even working on the album with him at his house.

Dre pretty involved with GMKC ? They shoot a vidéo for a track and didnt release it...
They push The singles without Dre on it.
maybe he produced some beats but they werent hot enough to make the final cut, that how i see it

btw i think Dre's guidance & mixing helped GKMC immensely even if i'm not the biggest fan of the album. it's all in the little details. can appreciate it for what it is though.

whether dre lost his touch? yes in some respects no in others. it's hard to be an artist if you're knee deep in money and surrounded by yes men. hard, but not impossible mind you, dre just got lost somewhere trying to please too many people. maybe he has amazing unreleased music? that's great but some of his more recent output is shitty.

eminem on the other hand, dudes shtick is pretty much exhausted and it's no wonder he's releasing a deliberately 'nostaligic' album. there's nothing left for him to rap about. same reason you see all these remakes of 80s/90s movies and old videogames everywhere - the industry as a whole is creatively bankrupt. interscope know he sells and while technically still impressive, his time as an an artist long since passed. should probably stick making comedy/horrorcore albums.

If Dre ain't producing on the album, I doubt it's because he and Em fell out.  The first two singles they pushed on Detox were not credited as being PRODUCED by Dre and as others have said, he didn't have any tracks on GKMC. My feeling is Dre is falling back from producing a bit until he finds a sound he is comfortable with putting his name on.

And.. as for Eminem, the Relapse album bombed and was Ems biggest failure of his career. They thought just throwing him and dre in the studio would bring em back and it didn't work.  They still have love for each other its just that the Relapse formula didn't work
